This page explains how Explore Insiders produces its content: how we choose topics, how we research and check them, how we keep them current, and how our commercial relationships work. It applies to everything we publish, including guest contributions.
Our purpose
Explore Insiders is a practical business publication for owners, managers and professionals who want to make better decisions at work. We turn complex business questions into clear, actionable guidance on running companies, managing money, marketing products and services, using technology, leading teams, and navigating workplace and industry challenges.
Who we publish for
Every guide we publish has to pass one test: would an owner, manager or professional read this at work to do their job better? If the honest answer is no, it does not run.
Our readers are the people responsible for business decisions: founders, contractors, practice owners, landlords and agency owners. They are also the managers, team leads, HR staff, salespeople, specialists and freelancers who run businesses day to day.
How we choose topics
Our coverage is organised into seven fixed sections:
- Business: starting, running and growing a business, strategy, entrepreneurship, business ideas, franchising and operations.
- Money: business finance, accounting, bookkeeping, funding, valuation, banking, costs and pricing.
- Marketing: marketing, sales, branding, advertising, social media and lead generation for businesses.
- Tech: business technology, software, tools, IT, connectivity, hosting, cybersecurity and office equipment.
- Workplace: hiring, HR, training, leadership, productivity and careers, seen from both sides of the desk.
- Construction & Property: the construction industry and real estate as business coverage: project management, claims, estimating, subcontractors, property investment, landlords and property management.
- Legal & Compliance: business law, contracts, regulation and tax compliance.
A topic is covered when it gives a working reader something they can use: an option explained, a practical problem solved, or a next step made clearer.
How we research and source
We research each topic using relevant primary sources, official guidance, industry data and credible specialist publications. We cite and link to sources so readers can check important claims and explore the evidence for themselves.
For consequential subjects such as finance, law, tax and employment, we prioritise applicable official sources and qualified expertise.
Facts, prices and rules are verified before publishing. Estimates are labelled as estimates. We explain how our recommendations are formed, and we never claim testing or experience we do not have.
How we make recommendations
Our product and tool recommendations are based on research, relevant selection criteria, and the needs of the reader. Depending on the topic, we consider factors such as features, pricing, availability, compatibility, limitations, customer feedback, and suitability for different use cases.
In practice, that means we consult manufacturer documentation and official product information, look at which options appear consistently across credible independent sources, and check customer reviews and ratings before shortlisting. We distinguish information verified from published sources from conclusions based on our own analysis, and we verify that an item is still available before listing it.
We do not claim to have personally tested a product, used a service, or verified a feature through hands-on experience unless we have actually done so. When hands-on testing is not available, we explain our research-based approach and avoid presenting it as direct product experience.
Recommendations explain why an option may suit a particular reader, as well as its relevant limitations. Prices, features, and availability can change, so readers should confirm current details with the provider before making a purchase.
Commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions. Any affiliate or sponsored relationship is disclosed in accordance with our applicable policies.
Authorship and editorial responsibility
Articles published by Explore Insiders carry an author byline that identifies the person or editorial identity responsible for the content. Author information should accurately reflect the person’s role, relevant experience, and qualifications; we do not invent credentials or claim expertise that has not been established.
Where appropriate, articles on complex or consequential subjects may benefit from review by a suitably qualified professional. We identify reviewers and describe their role when such a review has genuinely taken place.
We may use digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, to support research, drafting, or editing. These tools do not replace the need to verify factual claims, assess sources, and ensure that the final article meets our editorial standards. We do not present AI-generated claims of personal experience, testing, or professional expertise as real.
Every article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Articles are written for one named reader with a job to do: straight answers first, clear structure, no filler.
How we keep guides current
Guides are kept current: when tools, prices or rules change, we update the article, and the updated date on the article changes with it. An update means the facts were re-checked, not just the date refreshed.
Corrections
We welcome reports of factual errors, outdated information, broken links, and other issues that could affect a reader’s understanding or decisions. If you identify a problem, please contact us through our Contact page and include the article URL and relevant details.
We review correction requests and verify the information against appropriate sources. When an error is confirmed, we correct the article and update its last-updated date when the change is material. Where appropriate, we explain a significant correction in the article.
We aim to address substantiated reports promptly. The time required depends on the nature and complexity of the issue.
Commercial relationships and contributions
Explore Insiders may earn revenue through advertising, sponsored content, affiliate links, and other commercial arrangements. We disclose these relationships through clear labels and our Affiliate Disclosure Policy, as applicable.
Commercial arrangements do not determine our editorial conclusions. Advertisers and contributors cannot purchase a favourable editorial recommendation or a guarantee of publication.
Sponsored content is identified as sponsored. Guest contributions are evaluated against our editorial standards, including relevance, accuracy, originality, sourcing, and usefulness to our readers. We may reject or edit submissions that do not meet those standards. Contributors must disclose relevant commercial interests, and promotional material is handled in accordance with our applicable policies.
